Office Clerk / Courier

Position Title: Office Clerk / Courier              
Employment Status: Full time – Non-Exempt
Department: Accounting   

Summary Description

The Office Clerk/Courier is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support in the company's day-to-day operations.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

The Office Clerk/Courier reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for a wide variety of general clerical and administrative tasks. Providing these services (see below) ensures effective and efficient administrative operations.

  • Courier duties – daily mail pick, bank deposits, and miscellaneous errands as needed
  • Daily sort and distribution of mail
  • Ensures common areas including kitchen are clean, sanitized, and organized; recycling duties, etc.
  • Ordering of office supplies and products
  • Other general office duties including operating office machinery such as fax, copy machine, scanner and printer; typing; and answering phones
  • Mailings of accounts payable checks including assists in credit card payments to vendors and review of vendor’s statements
  • Responsible for accounting of Company issued cell phones/air cards to employees including analysis of cell phone plans, features usage, contracts, and inter-company billings.
  • Responsible for maintenance of auto - DMV files, auto insurance, driver’s list & Fleet insurance/maintenance program.
  • Assists other accounting department with special projects as needed
  • Assists on various audits and budget preparation
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Regular attendance and promptness are required

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required
  • Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to work with high diverse workforce
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Highly organized, detailed-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

Job requires ability to sit for long periods of time to perform duties. Also required, is the ability to walk around and make inquiries from other staff, management, etc. Must be able to bend or stoop down to access file cabinets including lifting of items or objects up to 10 pounds.
