Summary Description 

California Giant Berry Farms Organic Category Manager will provide strategic leadership for the future direction of the Organic Sales team in the development of Cal Giants strategic sales plan.  Participates in Demand planning meeting and manages resources to grow and diversify our Organics business. Provides leadership of the day to day operations of the Organics sales channel, while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals.  Promotes safety, development, training, and evaluations of all Organic sales team members.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Target and develop new customers and maintain existing customers, grower, and vendor relationships.
  • Measures and reports channel sales performance via monthly management reports.
  • Manages Trade accounts receivable and adjustment processes
  • Manage Grower-Supplier Business Relationship According to Agreement Terms
  • Seasonal and Weekly Supply & Demand Planning
  • Accurately Assess Market using Trade Feedback and Statistical Analysis
  • Advise Sales on Weekly Lid Pricing & Ad Offers
  • Provide Daily Internal Rundown (pricing & availability to inside sales team)
  • Hold Sales accountable for organic Pricing Performance
  • Generate Weekly Sales & Market Analysis for Growers, and for Sales Team
  • Align Weekly Sales Plan to company placement strategy
  • Effective communication skills to ensure proactive and effective collaborations and communication with operations, production, and service groups and all other departments for greater efficiencies and strategic plan.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Famous, I-trade, Foodlink and PowerPointz
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of management and external customers.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the VP of Sales

Skills and Abilities

  • Accurate Assessment of Market (Supply & Demand) both Movement and Pricing
  • Budgeting, Planning, and Goal Setting
  • Ability to Manage People
  • Must be available to travel approximately 25% of the time
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to maintain a valid California Driver’s License with the ability to be insured under company sponsored liability coverage.

Experience and Education:
