STRAWBERRIES

Watsonville/Salinas

Quality:

Conventional: Fruit quality is good. Some instances of crooked fruit are present and anticipated to clear in the coming weeks, as well as soft fruit.
Organic: Fruit quality is good. Some instances of crooked fruit are present and anticipated to clear in the coming weeks, as well as soft fruit.

Volume: Volumes are decreasing week-by-week.

Pack Counts: Conventional, 22-26; Organic, 30-34.

Santa Maria

Quality:

Conventional: Fruit quality is good. Some occurrences of bruised/soft skinned fruit are present. Fruit size has dropped.
Organic: Fruit quality is good. Some occurrences of bruised/soft skinned fruit are present. Fruit size has dropped.

Volume: Volumes are increasing week-over-week. While a significant increase is anticipated in the coming weeks, volumes are still limited as demand exceeds supply.

Pack Counts: Conventional, 20-24; Organic, 26-30, 30-34, 34-40.

BLUEBERRIES

PNW

Quality: Organic and conventional quality is fair-to-good as the season begins a gradual decline.

Volumes: Volumes are steady but anticipated to decrease in the following weeks as fruit remaining in the fields will be limited. Production is anticipated to continue with limited availability in weeks 36-39.

Peru

Quality: Organic and conventional quality is excellent.

Volumes: Organic and conventional volumes have arrived. Volumes are limited in August/September, however overall supply is increasing.

RASPBERRIES

Mexico

Quality: Conventional and organic quality is good with nice color, firmness, and flavor.

Volume: Volumes are declining week-over-week through August and anticipated to rebound in September. Mexico cane berries will be transitioning to export to Texas at the end of week 38.

Watsonville

Quality: Fruit shows excellent firmness, flavor, and appearance.

Volume: Raspberry availability is anticipated to decrease week-over-week for the remainder of the season.

BLACKBERRIES

Mexico

Quality: Quality is good.

Volume: August and September availability will be limited for Mexico product. Volume will begin increasing more significantly in October. Mexico cane berries will be transitioning to export to Texas around week 38.

Watsonville

Conventional: Quality is mixed with some leaky fruit and red cell reversion observed.
Organic: Quality is mixed with some leaky fruit and red cell reversion observed.

Volume:

Conventional: Volumes have been reduced for August into mid-September. Volumes are anticipated to increase in late September through early October.
