1 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 star anise
20 ea whole allspice
4 cinnamon sticks
2 cup cabernet (or other dark red wine)
2 cup apple cider
4 cups mixed California Giant berries, frozen
In a medium sauce pot, combine all ingredients for simple syrup and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Turn off heat and let steep 1 hour.
In a large pitcher, combine wine, apple cider, and mixed berries. Let steep 1 hour.
Strain simple syrup into wine mixture and stir to combine.
