24 large California Giant strawberries, stem end cut evenly off
Directions:
Scoop out the white core of the strawberries, being very gentle so that the outside doesn’t split (can use a strawberry huller, serrated spoon or pairing knife)
Slice just a little bit off the tip of the strawberry so that it can stand, while still not exposing an opening in the bottom
Bring ¾ cup water to a boil and stir in the jello mixture until all dissolved, then stir in the lime zest
In a medium volume measuring cup, add ½ cup vodka and then add enough ice to fill the measuring cup up to 1 ¼ cup
Once the jello mixture is dissolved, pour it into the iced down vodka and stir until the ice no longer dissolves (I was left with like 1 T little ice chips that wouldn’t dissolve easily)
Pour the jello mixture into the cored strawberries and gently place into the refrigerator and allow to cool till set throughout
Once fully set, juice the limes into a small bowl and fill another small bowl with the sugar
Take the set strawberries and dip just the top ends into lime juice and then immediately into the sugar
