Quality: Overall, fruit size remains large to extra-large across all varieties. Most of the fruit boasts excellent shape, firmness, and sheen.
Volume: Production has begun its surge and volume ramp up, as plants responded to this week’s favorable weather very well. This upward trend is expected to continue through the end of the week. However, with rain and significantly cooler temperatures in the forecast for the following week, fruit ripening was likely to slow, causing production to stall again.

Region Update: As we approach the beginning of the Watsonville/Salinas strawberry season, we have harvested some small scratch pickings of conventional and organic fruit.
Quality: Quality remains excellent, with great flavor, bloom and appearance, although we are seeing some issues with redberries, soft and leaking fruit, and shriveling.
Volume: We will see a 50% cut in production starting this week as some growers end production for the season. Volume will be consistent throughout May but will steadily drop in the coming weeks as we have passed our peak production.
Region Update: Production is quickly ramping up, with peak season volume and quality starting next week, and should last all throughout April and into mid-May. We are harvesting conventional fruit here, with good quality.
Quality: Organic blues’ production and quality continues to look great, with great size, flavor, and bloom.
Volume: We are in peak production, which will quickly drop throughout April and May, with sizing in the 14mm-16mm range, and packout efficiency in the 90% range. Open market volume is available.
Quality: Overall, fruit is looking good with a strong red color, sizes and firmness.
Volume: Volume for raspberries is staying at a consistent peak through the end of April.
Quality: Quality is good.
Volume: Volume for blackberries is consistent, but we are in a dip in production from pruning over the last week.
