STRAWBERRIES

Watsonville/Salinas

Quality:

Conventional: Fruit quality is good. Some defects are present including bruised fruit and/or soft skin remain.
Organic: Fruit quality is good. Some defects are present including bruised fruit and/or soft skin remain.

Volume: Volumes are decreasing week by week, however supply remains strong.

Pack Counts: Conventional, 16-18, 24-26; Organic, 22-26.

Santa Maria

Quality:

Conventional: Fruit has nice color and size.
Organic: Harvests began last week. Fruit has nice color and shape. Some seedy/bruised fruit is present and anticipated to clear as the season progresses.

Volume: Volumes are increasing week by week.

Pack Counts: Organic, 16-18, 20-24.

BLUEBERRIES

PNW

Quality: Organic and conventional quality is good with nice bloom and flavor. British Columbia and Washington are harvesting draper and calypso varieties. Oregon’s harvesting calypso, legacy, Elliot and Last Call.

Volumes: Volumes are expected to remain consistent through mid August. Availability will decrease in late August into September.

Peru

Quality: Quality is excellent.

Volumes: First volumes from Peru have arrived. Volumes are limited in August/September.

RASPBERRIES

Mexico

Quality: Quality is good with excellent color, firmness, and flavor.

Volume: Volumes are declining week over week through August and anticipated to rebound in September. Fruit is currently only available in Mexico’s domestic market.
