Quality:

  • Conventional: Fruit quality is good and improving. Less defects are present, however some occurences of albino or bruised fruit and/or soft skin remain.
  • Organic: Fruit quality is good and improving. Less defects are present, however some occurrences of albino or bruised fruit and/or soft skin remain.

Volume: Volumes are strong and anticipated to decline slightly (~10%).

Pack Counts: Conventional, 14-16, 18-20; Organic, 22-26.

 

Santa Maria

Region Update: The region has moved to the processed market. No volumes are currently available. Volumes are anticipated to resume around late July, depending on weather.

BLUEBERRIES

Quality: Conventional: Quality is good, with nice bloom and flavor. Minor occurrences of defects due to weather.

Volume: Volumes are declining with the season forecasted to close around week 29.

Central Valley

Region Update: The Central Valley season has come to a close.

Ukiah

Quality: Conventional: Quality is excellent with nice bloom and flavor.

Volumes: Volumes are steady but overall regional supply is limited. The season will complete around week 29.

PNW

Quality: 

  • Conventional: Quality is excellent with nice bloom and flavor.
  • Organic: Quality is excellent with nice bloom and flavor.

Volumes: Volumes are increasing as the region enters peak volume this week. Oregon is in second full week of production. British Columbia began packing this week.

RASPBERRIES

Quality: Quality is good with excellent color, firmness, and flavor.

Volume: Peak volumes will continue through the next few months.

Watsonville

Quality: Strong early crop condition. Fruit shows excellent firmness, flavor, and appearance.

Volume: Conventional volumes will remain light for the coming week due to weather. Increases are anticipated in weeks 30/31. Organic volumes are light and anticipated to remain as such through July.

BLACKBERRIES

Region Update: Quality is fair-to-good.

Volume: Volumes are light due to pruning.

Watsonville

Quality:

  • Conventional: Quality is good, with nice size and flavor.
  • Organic: Current field assessments show healthy crop development, though slightly behind historical timing due to cooler weather.

Volume: Conventional volumes are light and anticipated to increase around week 30. The organic program is now projected to start around the first week of August.
