Region Update: The blueberry season in Mexico is coming to a close—it has been confirmed that next week will be the final week of production, as growers begin pruning to prepare for the next season.
Quality: Quality is good.
Volume:Conventional blueberry production in California has declined significantly as we approach the end of season and transition into the Pacific North West (PNW). Organic production is also trending downward.
Region Update: Oregon production is expected to start towards the second half of June (Conventional and organic). Initial fruit set on plants look great with nice, healthy plants. British Columbia and Washington are scheduled to start sometime in July.
Quality: Blackberry quality has been significantly impacted by the recent weather. High humidity and dense air within the hoops have led to issues with overripe and soft fruit.
Volume: Volume for blackberries is consistent, but we are in a dip in production from pruning over the last week.
Region Update: We will only have conventional production here. The season here will be quick, with volume beginning sometime in mid-June through the end of July. Availability from this region will be limited due to committed business, but open-market availability may be available on a weekly basis.
