Oxnard

Quality: Quality is good with 95-100% color and nice shape and sheen. 

Volume: Due to rain in the past week, harvesting slowed as crews clean up the plants and navigate very muddy conditions. Production is forecasted to peak this and next week, with a higher volume sustained for the following 2-3 weeks. Supply is strong and plentiful for Mother’s Day and Memorial Day promotions.  

Pack Counts: Conventional: 18-20, 20-22 depending on ranch. 

Santa Maria

Quality: Conventional and organic quality is good, with occasional misshapen fruit due to past weather events.  

Volume: Due to rain, harvesting slowed this week. Production is forecasted to increase in the coming weeks with warmer, dry weather. Supply is strong and plentiful for Mother’s Day and Memorial Day promotions.  

Pack Counts: Conventional: 14-16, 18-20; Organic: 16-18 

Watsonville/
Salinas

Quality: Quality of harvested fruit is good. Crews are working to clean the fields following an inch of rain in the past week. 

Volume: Production is forecasted to increase with warmer, dry weather. Fields are abundant with flowers and green fruit sets.  

Pack Counts: Conventional: 12-14; Organic: 16-18

Quality: Quality of this organic crop is good with occasional soft or moldy fruit. Harvest crews are doing a good job keeping packs clean. 

Volume: Production is increasing toward peak volumes.
