Quality: Fruit quality is good with some occurrences of button-nose defects. 

Volume: Weekoverweek increases are expected to continue gradually, though not aggressively. Despite the anticipated increases, the region is not expected to see heavy production throughout the month of May. 

Pack Counts: Conventional,14-18; Organic, 20-22.

 

Santa Maria

Quality: Conventional and organic strawberry quality remains strong. Field observations indicate issues with soft and overripe fruit, along with minor shape inconsistencies.

Volume: Production has softened this week as we continue our post-peak phase.

Pack Counts: Conventional, 18-22; Organic, 20-24.

BLUEBERRIES

Oxnard

Quality: Overall fruit quality remains strong.

Volume: Oxnard organic production is nearing completion.

Mexico

Quality: Quality is good.

Volume: Volumes are stable.

Central Valley

Quality: Organic and conventional quality is strong overall. 

Volumes: Organic volumes are beginning to increase. Meaningful conventional supply from the Central Valley is not anticipated until at least Week 19 (early May).

Florida/Georgia

Quality: Quality is excellent.

Volumes: Volumes are light.

Region Update: Quality is good, with some impact from the ongoing heat.
