Actualización de la región: Peru’s season is winding down, though volumes remain steady. Last week, production exceeded expectations due to delayed containers from the prior week being shifted into Week 49. Organic production totaled just under a load, including the start of the California coastal organic blueberry season in Oxnard, which contributed about a quarter-load of field-packed six-ounce containers. For Weeks 51 and 52, previously forecasted volumes have been reduced significantly.

Quality has been strong, with good bloom and firm berries, though occasional stems and soft berries have been noted.

Despite concerns, Mexico delivered slightly above expectations, producing approximately 1.5 loads, mostly 6oz and some pints. For the current week, Mexico is estimating about 15% lower, which is consistent with last week’s actuals. Adjustments were made earlier this week to increase pint production through the end of the week. By week’s end, Mexico is expected to produce roughly 50% pints and 50% six-ounce packs that will be available next week. Additionally, about 500 cases of jumbo packs were produced early in the week, marking the extent of jumbo production for this period.
