Calidad: Overall, fruit size remains large to extra-large across all varieties. Most of the fruit boasts excellent shape, firmness, and sheen.
Volumen: Production has begun its surge and volume ramp up, as plants responded to this week’s favorable weather very well.

Actualización de la región: As we approach the beginning of the Watsonville/Salinas strawberry season, we have harvested some small scratch pickings of conventional and organic fruit.
Calidad: Quality remains excellent, with great flavor, bloom and appearance, although we are seeing some issues with redberries, soft and leaking fruit, and shriveling.
Volumen: We will see a 50% cut in production starting this week as some growers end production for the season. Volume will be consistent throughout May but will steadily drop in the coming weeks as we have passed our peak production.

Calidad: Overall, fruit is looking good with a strong red color, sizes and firmness.
Volumen: Volume for raspberries is staying at a consistent peak through the end of April.
