Basil Lemon Berry Cocktail


    For the California Giant Strawberry Simple Syrup:

  • 8 California Giant strawberries
  • 1⁄2 cup sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup water
  • For the Blueberry Ice Cubes:

  • 1 pint California Giant blueberries
  • water
  • ice cube mold
  • For the Cocktail:
  • 2 ounces Lemon Vodka
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 3 basil leaves
  • 2 blueberry ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry simple syrup
  • additional ice cubes to shake with


  • For the Strawberry Simple Syrup:

      • Combine sugar, water, and strawberries in a small saucepot. Bring just to a boil and then chill until no longer warm in refrigerator.
      • Using a fine mesh strainer, strain syrup into a container and discard strawberries.
  • For the Blueberry Ice Cubes:

    Fill ice cube molds with as many blueberries as possible. Pour water over until covered and freeze until solid.
  • For the Cocktail:

      • In a cocktail shaker, combine basil, lemon vodka, lime juice, and chilled simple syrup. Muddle until basil is well broken up.
      • Add a few ice cubes to the shaker and shake until well combined and chilled.
      • Pour cocktail through the fine mesh strainer over blueberry ice cubes into your favorite cocktail glass and enjoy!
