Pantry Strawberry Cake

  • One box of white cake mix, baked according to box directions (we used 6" size cake pans)

  • 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream

  • 1 cup confectioners sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla 

  • 1 lb California Giant strawberries, whole and cut for decorating 


  1. Bake cake according to the directions. Allow to cool completely before frosting. I like to put my cake in the freezer right before frosting so it's extra cool. 

  2. To make frosting, combine heavy whipping cream, confectioners sugar, and vanilla in a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. Whisk until stiff peaks form. 

  3. Decorate cake with frosting. Add cut strawberries between the two cake layers. Then finish by decorating the top of the cake with sliced and whole strawberries. Garnish with flowers.
