Whether served as an appetizer or as the centerpiece of the meal, these Pork Dumplings with Sweet Strawberry Sauce make any dining experience an unforgettable one!

INGREDIENTS

  • 10-12 wonton wrappers
  • ½ pound ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons green onion, thinly sliced (reserve 1 tbsp for inside the dumplings)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • ¾ cups Chinese cabbage, shredded
  • ½ cup California Giant strawberries, quartered

DIRECTIONS

      • In a small saucepan, cook the strawberries with a splash of water on medium heat. Stir often and smash the strawberries into a puree with the back end of a fork. Once the strawberries have cooked down (about 5 minutes), set aside to cool.
      • In a mixing bowl, add in the pork, ginger, garlic, 1 tbsp green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil and cabbage, as well as the strawberry sauce. Use your hands to mix well and incorporate the ingredients into the pork.
      • Now cook the pork mixture for a few minutes in a saucepan on medium heat - we’re just cooking it a touch, not fully.
      • Take the wonton wrapper and place 1 tbsp of the cooked pork mixture into the center of the wonton wrapper. Wet the sides of the wonton wrapper and fold one side over so it creates a triangle. Press down so that the sides seal. Now in a pot of boiling water, gently drop the dumplings into the water and cook for 4 minutes.
      • Once ready, strain from the water and serve in bowls with the soy sauce, extra green onion slices and chili oil and enjoy!
