Take lunch to the next level with this mouthwatering twist on the classic grilled cheese! This Strawberry Basil Grilled Cheese is made on sourdough bread with Fontina cheese and incorporates fresh strawberries, basil and balsamic glaze for unbelievable flavor.


  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • Salted butter, softened
  • Fontina cheese, sliced
  • 2 large California Giant strawberries, sliced
  • 2 large basil leaves, thinly sliced
  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling


      • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
      • Meanwhile, butter bread slices on one side. On the non-buttered side of two pieces of bread, arrange cheese slices so they are covering the bread. Add sliced strawberries and basil on top of cheese and cover with bread, making sure the buttered side is up.
      • Carefully transfer the sandwiches to pre-heated skillet, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until bread is golden and cheese is melted.
      • Transfer to cutting board to slice, drizzle with balsamic glaze and enjoy!
