Bright, fruity, and perfectly balanced, this Blueberry Vanilla Latte blends sweet homemade blueberry sauce with smooth espresso and creamy milk for a refreshing twist on a coffeehouse favorite. Whether served iced or hot, it’s a cozy, berry-infused pick-me-up that tastes as beautiful as it looks.

INGREDIENTS

    For The Blueberry Sauce:

  • 1 cup California Giant blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, or vanilla bean powder
  • For The Latte:

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • Ice
  • ¼ cup strongly brewed coffee, or 2 shots espresso
  • 2 tablespoons Blueberry Vanilla sauce

DIRECTIONS

      • Make the sauce: In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, add blueberries, water and sugar. Allow mixture to come to a boil, then reduce to simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally and mashing blueberries with potato masher or wooden spoon. Once the sauce has thickened, strain blueberries through a mesh sieve into a glass bowl. Gently press blueberries down to get as much liquid out as possible. Add vanilla into the sauce and stir until combined.
      • For an iced latte: In a 16 ounce glass, add ice, 2 tablespoons blueberry sauce, 1 cup milk and 2 shots espresso (or strong coffee). Stir to combine.
      • For a hot latte: In a 12 ounce capacity mug, add hot espresso, 2 tablespoons blueberry sauce and 1 cup steamed milk. Gently stir to combine.
  • Note:

The blueberry sauce recipe will yield about ½ cup. It is meant to be a little thicker. Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy within 3 days.
